Queenstown Overview with Richard Hawke – Part One

May 10, 2016 0 comments

We recently caught up with our Area Manager for both Queenstown and Southland, Richard Hawke, to shine a light on our Queenstown office and to give an overview of the Queenstown job market. Richard told us how he got to where he is, and shared his thoughts on the current market and what lies ahead for OneStaff.

About Richard and OneStaff Queenstown

Although mostly based in Queenstown, Richard’s main role is to grow both our Queenstown and Southland branches on a day-to-day basis, but he also likes to get stuck into some recruiting himself, as well as managing the skilled and experienced teams at both the Queenstown and Invercargill branches.

So what about the market? Watch the video above to find out why Richard thinks it’s an exciting time to move down to Queenstown

Queenstown’s Booming Market and OneStaff’s Bright Prospects

OneStaff has had a presence of some sort in Queenstown for the last 10 years, but with the branch now being under the OneStaff banner, it now has access to OneStaff’s strong national network of candidates.

Because of the nature of Queenstown as a tourist destination, Hospitality is the main market served by the Queenstown OneStaff office – which makes it unique, as this isn’t a core market for our other offices.

The second biggest industry in Queenstown is the construction industry. With many major public, residential and commercial projects going on, the Queenstown construction market is really hitting his stride. Watch the video above to find about the impact this has had, and to learn more about OneStaff’s presence in Queenstown.

Stay Tuned

We would thank Richard for sitting down and talking to us! For more check out the second part of our Queenstown market overview, where Richard takes a detailed look at Queenstown’s Hospitality and Construction markets and take us through the current trends and in-demand roles.
