Tour: A Possible Solution for the Construction Industry’s Talent Shortage
As a response to the current shortage of talent in the Construction industry the Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation has been taking students from Bay of Plenty on a tour around work sites. The organisation’s Chief Executive, Warwick Quinn, says the aim of the tour is to showcase the variety of roles available in the industry, which is crucial for attracting a wide cross-section of people.
Skypath Project Clears Another Hurdle
The construction of Skypath will be financed by H.R.L. Morrison & Co’s Public Infrastructure Partnership Fund’s (the PIP Fund). After more than five hours of submissions, questioning, and a heated discussion, Auckland Council’s committee members unanimously voted for the public private partnership. Although this means that users would be required to pay a small fee per trip, supporters were willing to accept terms.
The Kapiti Expressway May Drive Commercial and Industrial Growth
By providing better access to the Kapiti Coast airport, the Kapiti Expressway may create a new hub for commercial and industrial growth. Reports suggest that distribution companies are already looking to secure sites in areas that would benefit from the new infrastructure and the region is already expecting a high demand for warehouse space.

With the change in Maersk’s Triple Star service, Tauranga will be included on the route of this container ship. Being 348 metres long and capable of carrying 9500 containers, this vessel is the biggest container ship New Zealand has ever received. In preparation for this visit, Port of Tauranga has invested $350 million in its infrastructure. The port expects to finish its dredging work in August, bringing a New Zealand a step toward becoming a more efficient export nation.
