OneStaff Palmy Goes ‘Blue on the Green’ for Blue September

September 8, 2017 0 comments

There’s two things we take pretty seriously at OneStaff: Health & Safety and anything of a sporting nature, so when we saw an opportunity to combine our Annual OneStaff Palmerston North Golf Day with Blue September this year, it was a no-brainer for us. Our clients in Palmy will be taking an afternoon off to leave the office or the construction site and Go Blue on the Green on 29 September, to join us and raise awareness for prostate cancer while playing a game of golf.

Blue September is the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s national awareness campaign and we think it’s a pretty important initiative.

Every year around 600 men die in New Zealand of prostate cancer. That is more than 600 fathers, sons, brothers, grandfathers – gone! This happens because men don’t know how dangerous the disease is, they don’t talk to their doctor about it, they simply don’t do anything about it. But deaths from prostate cancer can be prevented if the disease is detected early enough.

That’s why Blue September is about getting the word out about prostate cancer. If you buy a blue ribbon, paint your face blue, donate money to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or even tell people, you will be directly helping to lower the death rate and reduce the suffering from this disease.

If you’d like to help support our Blue Do fundraising initiatives for Blue September, you can do so here, with all proceeds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.

If you’d like to stay updated on what we’re doing for Blue September, follow our Facebook Page and stay tuned for some great photos.
