OneStaff - Christchurch

The OneStaff Christchurch office was opened in 1997 and is the longest operating branch within the wider OneStaff Group. We are a part of the Canterbury Rebuild Safety Charter and Forum, and as a recruitment agency are proud of our endeavours to improve health and safety in the workplace for all workers.

Led by Darryl Blockley, Canterbury Regional Manager, the Christchurch recruitment branch has grown significantly over the years. Its success has come from the dedicated, committed, reliable and long serving team of recruiters who have been with the company for many years. OneStaff Christchurch employ a specialist industry ‘Silo’ model, where essentially each Business Development Manager works in a different industry sector. They are supported by a team of operations consultants who provide consistent office based recruitment support and advice to our clients and the BDMs.

We are a leading recruitment agency in Christchurch, in 2015 we were nominated for the RCSA McLean Award for workplace safety. We are also proud to be a member of the Canterbury Rebuild Safety Charter, and to be recognised for our safety leadership and collaborative efforts as part of the Canterbury Labour Hire Forum which won two SEEK SARA Awards for ‘Most Innovative Agency of the Year’ and ‘Recruitment Leader of the Year’.

The Canterbury Jobs Landscape

The upcoming year will potentially be one of the busiest following the devastating events of 2010. Media recently have focused on the reduction in housing consents for Canterbury, but they have possibly missed the level of complexity that the commercial rebuild and hillside residential rebuild will deliver over the coming 5+ years. The employment market is still buoyant and vacancies are strong for skilled and experienced employees across most industries and sectors. The ‘easy’ repair work has nearly been completed, and SCRIT will disappear in 2016, but the repair and commercial re-development of Christchurch will continue.

As a specialist industrial, manufacturing and construction recruitment agency, we regularly have vacancies for the following experienced trades people: Hammer Hands, Plumbers, Electricians, Painters & Engineers, Civil Machine Operators (Diggers, rollers, loaders, dozers, bobcats), Drivers (classes 2-5), stores and logistics (pick packers, fork lift operations) and physically fit and reliable labourers.
