Christchurch Charity Cricket and the Spirit of Giving

December 14, 2016 0 comments

We were out in force over the weekend to see the mighty Crusaders Super Rugby team take on Rio Olympics and Paralympics All Stars in a 20/20 charity cricket match. In the true spirit of Christmas, the event was not just a great family day out but also a chance to help others, with the event being in support of Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand.

All funds raised from the event supports CFNZ’s mission to improve the quality of life for people with Cystic Fibrosis and their families. With sausage sizzles, bouncy castles, autograph signings, a charity auction, a children’s cricket academy, an iconic game of cricket, and superb company, it was the perfect choice for our Christchurch client function this year.

As you can probably tell from our photos taken on the day, there was so much to watch or get involved in, that no one was actually looking at the camera! Some of NZ’s Olympians and Paralympians taking part included bronze medallist Tom Walsh, Rugby 7’s Sam Dickson, 4x Olympian javelin thrower Stu Farquhar, shot putter Dale Stevenson, hockey Olympian Bradley Shaw, and Paralympians Rory McSweeney, Byron Raubenheimer and William Stedman.

Thanks again to everyone who came along to this year’s event. We were proud to be a sponsor of such a worthy cause. If you’d like to contribute, or find out more about CFNZ, you can do so here.

Oh, and if you’d like to know who won the game, take a look here.
