5 Things to do While Stuck at Home this Easter Weekend

April 9, 2020 0 comments

Easter is right around the corner and if you’re anything like us, you’d usually be using the long weekend to have a few days away at the bach, see a movie or pay a visit to your favourite local restaurant. Although Easter might look a little different this year, there are still plenty of fun and interesting ways to use your time off work, all from the comfort of your living room.

Here are five unique ways you can make the most of Easter weekend while you’re stuck at home during the lockdown.

1. Go sightseeing

If your weekend away has been thwarted, why not satisfy your wanderlust with a virtual trip to Montreal or a 360-degree tour of the Taj Mahal instead? You can even explore the Great Barrier Reef with Sir David Attenborough as your guide!

2. Get the endorphins flowing

We may not always feel like it, but we all know a bit of exercise always gives us fresh energy for the day. Squeeze in a quick yoga session or do a Les Mills workout class, all without the pesky drive to the gym.

3. Put your cooking skills to the test

You may not be able to go out for a steak dinner, but you can DIY a three-course meal at home! This Italian cooking class, hosted on Facebook, will have you feeling like Gordon Ramsay’s protégé in no time – or at the very least, will give you something to laugh about later!

4. Have a cosy night in

Nothing says “date night” like a trip to the movies, but staying home doesn’t mean you have to miss out on your favourite flicks. Here’s how you can create your own backyard movie theatre or hold a Netflix Party with your friends.

5. Keep the kids busy

With the zoos and malls currently closed for business, we know you’ll be looking for ways to occupy your kids this weekend, too. With everything from bedtimes stories read by Dolly Parton to a virtual viewing of Disneyland’s latest parade, there’s an activity for everyone to enjoy!

What are your plans for the long weekend? Are you going to try out any of these ideas? We’d love to hear what you get up to.
