OneStaff Wins SEEK Large Recruitment Agency of the Year Award!

We are thrilled to have been recognised as the Large Recruitment Agency of the Year in last night’s 2016 SEEK SARA Annual Recruitment Awards ceremony. While our team usually like to keep a low profile, choosing instead to put the spotlight on our clients and candidates, awards and recognition are always well received! It validates the way that we’re working and enables us to deliver even better results for both customer groups (clients and candidates) in the future.

While we’ve been in the recruitment industry for almost two decades, the past year has been unparalleled in terms of remarkable growth and rapid change. This may be why this recognition the day after being confirmed as #44 on Deloitte Fast 50 (for the second year running!) is especially satisfying. As a business we’ve merged two brands, opened three new branches and, critically, gone from being twelve separately operated businesses to becoming one organisation.

The SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards celebrate innovation and excellence within the recruitment industry, recognising some of our country’s finest recruitment agencies and individuals.

Some of the things that made us a winning agency were:

• Working as One to provide localised, personal and specialist service

To achieve phenomenal results we know we have to be able to attract and retain phenomenal people to work for us and represent our customers. Our people reflect the communities that we serve, and our communities are increasingly diverse. A key theme from our surveys has been that people chose to work for OneStaff because they are proud of the company and its commitment to local communities.

• Streamlining systems to save time for our customers

We’ve reduced ineffective spend, improving our efficiency and consistency. The objective was to free our people up and allow them to do what they do best – provide excellent service. We simply wanted to focus on eliminating disadvantages by implementing processes that are future proofed and intuitive.

• Growing our local presence in regional centres

For us, nationwide coverage and local specialisation go hand in hand. We’re proud that our Area Managers within each of our regional branches have their finger on the pulse of their local communities to provide expert service to our clients and candidates. This provides greater flexibility and opportunity for our candidates and has led to an increased number of referrals, which we believe is the greatest endorsement of all. We’ve been one of only a handful of recruitment businesses to be awarded a Labour Hire Employer Accreditation from New Zealand Immigration and we’re working on overturning the much-publicised perception of worker exploitation within the labour hire industry.

• Doing what we say we’ll do

Our singular focus is to keep New Zealand working. We believe the best way to engage candidates is to provide them with the right opportunities, keep in regular contact, and be great to deal with. Our candidate engagement programme keeps us on track to deliver on the commitment we make to our candidates: “We’ll always be completely honest and direct with you and keep you abreast of opportunities to do great things.”

• Keeping people safe at work is paramount

We’ve been recognised for our involvement in the Canterbury Labour Hire Safety Forum, at previous awards events for our contribution to health and safety, and continue to invest in resources to help our clients and candidates to be better informed and site safe.

• We collaborate with industry to elevate standards

We’re now working with a number of partners to reduce and standardise assessments to increase ease for job seekers and businesses. We also create a number of guides to make New Zealand workplaces better by doing what we do best, working as One.
