Permanent staffing is where OneStaff source and screen suitable candidates against permanent positions at our clients (whether the opportunity is part time or fulltime – it will be on a permanent employment contract from the client company). The opportunity is selected and carefully analysed to best understand who will be the right match for not just the skill sets, qualifications, and remuneration package offered, but also the company culture, and future opportunity for development offered by the client company.

OneStaff specialise in shortlisting the best match by undertaking tailored screening on each applicant to the opportunity. We approach permanent recruitment on an individual level, even where there are multiple roles of a similar nature. We consider the personalities of managers and candidates to ensure a good fit for each, and commit to the right match (i.e. if we can’t source the right person we would rather not present anyone than present a maybe or "what if" type candidate, and similarly if we don’t have the right role we wont “sell” you a position). The reason for this is that a good placement is about aligning motivations not a “make do” type outcome.

All candidates presented are fully screened to a standard set with the client company, and thorough background checks are applied to ensure we see as many angles of the applicant as possible. The process for permanent recruitment involves several steps as standard including:

  • specific and detailed needs analysis;
  • advertising and attraction (various combinations of online, print, social media, database, etc. as required);
  • interviewing and screening (combinations of formal and informal observation and insight, behavioural based interviewing, industry specific testing, psychometric testing, assessment centres etc.);
  • shortlisting and profiling;
  • reference and authority checking (including combinations of criminal checks, credit, drug testing, references, qualifications, visa, ACC, etc. as required).
